Turn a tabletop into a playground
Stickman Playground connects a live camera view with a two-dimensional physics world. Edges from physical surfaces or lines drawn on paper become collision platforms for an autonomous stick figure, creating a playful bridge between a real scene and procedural animation.
From pixels to motion
- Webcam snapshots and a live tracking mode.
- Sobel edge detection and polyline simplification to derive collision geometry.
- Matter.js physics, inverse-kinematics animation and ragdoll falls.
- An explorer behavior that detects obstacles, changes direction and jumps.
- Mouse or touch interaction for dragging and throwing the character.
An experimental sandbox
Detection controls let the user tune sensitivity and minimum line length and inspect debug geometry. Results depend on lighting, contrast and the complexity of the captured scene. The project is an interactive experiment rather than a general-purpose scene reconstruction system. The illustration depicts the concept using a stylized webcam and drawn platforms.
