Home control from sofa distance
This project builds a dedicated television interface instead of embedding Home Assistant's existing browser UI. Large cards and directional focus make lights, scenes, room groupings and device status accessible through a remote control.
The documented MVP includes favorites, sensor summaries, camera snapshots and live updates. It connects to an authorized Home Assistant installation; this overview contains no home-specific entities, camera images, pairing details or deployment addresses.
Designed around television constraints
- Arrow-key, OK and Back navigation with preserved focus.
- Live state updates and reconnect/standby handling.
- Selected device controls and an insights view for sensor history.
- Independent camera snapshot handling.
- Mobile-assisted pairing rather than a keyboard-heavy TV setup.
Clear MVP boundaries
The TypeScript/Vite client uses Home Assistant APIs, with a small Node pairing service. Credentials and signing materials are outside the public description.
Notifications appear only while the application is open; background overlays and full camera streaming are not claimed. This is a privately sideloaded MVP rather than a Samsung store release. The illustration is conceptual and shows no real household data.
