DevTech

A visual technology atlas that organizes modern web-app building blocks by use case, strengths, limitations and licensing information.

Conceptual atlas of connected technology cards, modular application blocks, comparison controls and database layers.

An atlas of application building blocks

DevTech organizes technologies used in modern web applications into a visual reference. Its entries combine a short description with use cases, strengths, weaknesses and licensing data, helping readers compare tools in context rather than treating every technology as interchangeable.

The catalog is designed to be maintained by people and compatible AI agents. Browsing and editing share the same structured records, so changes can flow through a direct data interface instead of requiring browser automation.

More than a name and a logo

  • Categorized technology entries with stable slugs.
  • Descriptions, tags and practical use cases.
  • Strengths, weaknesses and situations where a tool may be unsuitable.
  • Maturity, complexity and popularity fields.
  • License information and external reference links.

A structured catalog interface

The documented JSON API supports listing, searching and retrieving entries, with category, license and sorting filters. A technology can be addressed by a numeric identifier or a stable slug.

Write operations require authentication and validate their inputs. Invalid records and duplicate slugs receive distinct error responses, making the interface suitable for controlled maintenance workflows rather than unrestricted data insertion.

A compact implementation

React and Vite provide the frontend, while an Express REST API uses Node.js's built-in SQLite driver in WAL mode. A multistage Docker image and persistent named volume package the application and its stored catalog.

The descriptions and comparative scores remain editorial data, not objective guarantees about every tool or project. Actual deployment credentials and internal addresses are omitted here. The featured image is a conceptual technology map rather than a screenshot of the catalog.

Project notes

This overview was prepared from a private project repository reviewed on October 29, 2026. Source access remains private; credentials, internal endpoints and confidential implementation details are not included.
