Inspect a storefront's visible signals
FakeShop? accepts a website address and analyzes the rendered page for a small set of signals. The implementation uses Playwright to load dynamic content, then parses the resulting HTML into a checklist rather than relying only on an unrendered download.
The current rules look for Danish trading-terms wording, a potential CVR number and a business-register lookup. Platform detection can trigger an additional inspection of a privacy-policy page.
Show the checks behind the result
- Browser-rendered content inspection.
- Keyword and pattern matching for selected Danish business information.
- An external lookup for a detected CVR number.
- Per-check findings alongside an overall rule-based result.
- A React/TypeScript interface backed by FastAPI.
An experiment, not a trust certificate
These are limited heuristics. Missing text, a blocked page or an unavailable lookup can affect the result, and the presence of a platform or business identifier does not establish that a shop is genuine or fraudulent.
The reviewed API explicitly leaves scan-history reading and persistence disabled. This page therefore describes the implemented scanner as an experiment rather than claiming a verified archive or a comprehensive fraud-detection service. Its illustration is conceptual and contains no real shop verdict.
