OpenSCAD Generators

A curated collection of parametric OpenSCAD models, editable generators and ready-to-slice examples for practical 3D-printing projects.

Conceptual digital illustration of a parametric storage box, S-hook, card holder and cable clips with construction guides.

Practical objects, adjustable by design

OpenSCAD Generators collects useful objects whose dimensions and features are controlled by parameters rather than fixed meshes. It brings editable source files, curated STL examples and matching digital renders together, making it possible to start with an existing design and adapt it to a particular use case.

The collection ranges from small desk accessories to more involved storage and display designs. Its emphasis is on understandable, reusable generators: the model is a starting point for experimentation rather than a single immutable object.

What is in the collection?

  • Card holders, cable clips and USB-stick holders for everyday organization.
  • Parametric boxes, a storage system and a tea-bag dispenser.
  • Keyrings, S-hooks and decorative insect models.
  • Text, signs and a universal clock dial for personalized designs.

From parameter to printable model

The documented workflow uses a recent OpenSCAD development snapshot. Open a generator, expose its parameters in the Customizer, adjust the design and preview the result. A final render produces geometry that can be exported as STL and passed to a slicer.

Some text-based generators use the experimental textmetrics feature. Printer, material and fit settings remain part of the user's own workflow, particularly where a part needs to clip, slide or hold another object.

Validation and physical testing

The repository describes isolated rendering of published SCAD files, topology and bed-bound checks on STL examples, and smoke-slicing with PrusaSlicer. These checks are useful preparation for fabrication, but they are distinct from testing a physical print.

Repository images are digital renders. Each generator's own README provides its validation and physical-test status, and fit-sensitive parts should be calibrated before committing to a full print. The featured image on this page is an independent conceptual illustration, not an exported model from the collection.
